Description

Located in the limestone- and iron-rich soils of the Ardèche (between the Rhône valley and Provence), Saint-Andéol is one of the villages recently promoted to the highest quality level of Côtes-du-Rhône; named ‘Villages’ status in 2017. Benefiting from a Mediterranean climate alongside soils full of heat-retaining pudding stones (the same as those found in Châteauneuf-du-Pape), the steep hillsides around Bourg-Saint-Andéol help capture the sunshine to ripen the fruit that is also cooled by the Mistral winds.
