Gideon Beinstock and his wife, Saron, worked for the pioneering Sierra Foothills vineyard in California, Renaissance, for a very long time. At the end of the 90s they created their own estate with a few pinot noir vines planted on the “Oregon House” terroir in California. Today, Clos Saron is the benchmark in California for rigorous organic farming and minimal intervention in the cellar. The production is tiny, around 10,000 bottles in the best years. Their reds made from Pinot Noir, Syrah and Cinsault, as well as their blended white, are recognized for their complexity, their balance and their suitability for aging.
