Each Riesling in the Spreitzer portfolio offers a unique take on the versatile grape. For this distinctive Alte Reben (“old vine”) label, the estate only sources fruit from 40+ year old vines in the Hendelberg vineyard. This beautiful spot outside the village of Oestrich has a soil with colored slate layered with quartzite and loess. Fermenting and maturation in a combination of old oak with some 3 year old barrels adds spice and a slightly rounder profile to the mid-palate.
