Description
The “Oscar Bosio” winery is in Valdivilla, a village perched on the beautiful hills of Santo Stefano Belbo. “La Bruciata” hill, where the winery is located, offers an all-round view of the surrounding vineyards, the Alps and the Alba plain. These are the languid, soft coloured lands described by the great poet from Santo Stefano Belbo, Cesare Pavese, but also those characterised by the harshness of fatigue and sacrifice written about by Beppe Fenoglio. It is here that the Bosio family purchased the company in 1954, and began growing Moscato grapes. Three generations have grown up since then, each embodying a passion for the vineyard and respect for the land.
It is on these steep hills, perfectly exposed to the sun, with fossil-rich marly soils, that we grow our high-quality, perfectly ripened, healthy grapes. In 18 hectares of vineyard we produce red and white wines under the finest Langhe appellations. Applying integrated vineyard management methods, with respect for the environment, reducing treatments to the minimum and leaving the grass to grow between the rows of vines, we aim to guarantee the best for future generations.
The winery’s main wine is Moscato d’Asto DOCG which, thanks to the ideal microclimate and limestone soils, as well as a level of residual sugars that is never too high, is balanced, fresh and aromatic. Our production also comprises the Langa Reds: Barbera d’Alba, Dolcetto d’Alba and Langhe Nebbiolo. Barolo and Barbaresco are our selections. The vineyards are planted in a position with a particular vocation for winegrowing, offering us aromatic wines that we vinify to be elegant, balanced and never excessive.
