Oriol Artigas La Bèstia is a natural white wine without denomination of origin produced by Oriol Artigas Viticultors, in Llinars del Vallès, northeast of D.O. Alella, only 15 km from Barcelona.
Oriol Artigas is a young winemaker from the area of Alella, natural of Vilassar de Dalt. After studying and working in various viticultural regions of the Catalan geography, he decided to settle in his own territory, Alella.
The Oriol Artigas Viticultors winery is located in Llinars, where it makes its wines with territorial identity. A connoisseur of the area, he interprets the landscape with great skill and personality, working the vineyard organically and producing his wines in a natural, non-interventional way. This results in honest and transparent wines, which, thanks to a fascinating saline touch, express the full character of the Mediterranean climate.
Oriol Artigas La Bèstia is a white wine made with Pansa Blanca from a vineyard located in Sant Fost de Campsentelles, Vinya d’en Mundu, a vineyard that is over 70 years old planted on white granite sand soils with gneiss at around 120 metres of altitude.
The harvest is carried out manually. Once in the winery, the grapes are destemmed without squeezing and then macerated with the skins for 5 days. After this, the grapes are pressed and fermented in stainless steel deposits with native yeasts. Once the fermentation has been completed, it is oxidatively aged for 9 months in these same deposits with its fine lees. It is bottled without clarifying nor stabilising or filtering and without added sulphur.
