Costa’s Roero is made from 100% Nebbiolo from 25 year old vines in the prestigious Cru vineyard, Medic. Here, the soils are calcareous and rich in clay, with less sand than is usually encountered in Roero. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel and aged for 30 months in tonneaux and six months in bottle before release. Light, pale ruby in color with tawny highlights, this stunning Roero delivers intense aromas of cherries, roses and earth. The palate is elegant yet powerful with mouth-coating tannins and a snappy acidity that creates a perfect tunnel for the complex fruit and earth flavors to flow into a long, persistent finish.
