Beautiful deep color, and bold, very upfront fruit aromas. There’s peach and citrus and herbs. It is medium bodied and shows lots of fruit and spice on the palate. Moderate tannins lead to a peppery/citrus finish. There’s plenty of Syrah character in here.

Description

Here we have Syrah from the Fenaughty vineyard and Viognier from the Sumu Kaw vineyard. Both sites are situated on the same long ridge of volcanic loam which runs through the center of El Dorado County. Co-fermented whole cluster, foot stomped, open top vessels, no added yeasts. After a short-ish ferment, they rack the wine to flextanks to let them finish, settle and intertwine.
