The property’s parcels are spread across the lieu-dits of Plateau de Corbin and Fortin where a mix of loamy-sand and clay sits atop a layer of iron-rich clay and sand, a very high-quality terroir particularly well suited to merlot. Soils are ploughed, only organic amendments are used, and yields are a very reasonable 45hh. Madame Meunier seems to have a knack for finding the perfect picking date, her wines having never suffered from the excess of high alcohol that currently plagues the region, they show all the finesse and elegance that made St-Emilion so famous. Extraction is always perfectly judged, and the barrels come from highly regarded barrel-maker Darnajou, only a third of which are new each year.
