Chicken curry is a dish originating from the Indian subcontinent, common delicacy in the cuisine of the Indian subcontinent, cuisine of Southeast Asia, as well as in the cuisine of the Caribbean (where it is usually referred to as curry chicken). A typical curry from the Indian subcontinent consists of chickenstewed in an onion- and tomato-based sauce, flavored with ginger, garlic, tomato puree, chili peppers and a variety of spices, often including turmeric, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, cardamom and so on. It is at the foot of the fortified church of Hunawihr, that since 1963, the Mittnacht family has been producing wines of high expression.
Today, it is Marc Mittnacht, son of André, his wife Paule and his son Pierre who work the 11 hectares of vines spread over the best terroirs of Hunawihr and Ribeauvillé.
For more than 20 years now, the vineyard has been conducted in Organic and Biodynamic Agriculture.
