Founded by two Chicago natives, Randal Feldman and Aaron Cherny, Source & Sink is a project dedicated to revival. Rande was a journeyman in wine, having worked as a grape grower, winemaker and cellar master. Aaron was a jaded banker who left his finance life in Chicago for the 2017 harvest and never looked back. With connections to legendary vineyard sources Rande and Aaron wanted to pay homage to the rich grape growing history of Sonoma, so they sought out Heritage varieties ripening on old vines to showcase that history. It isn’t just their focus on varieties like Petite Sirah and Alicante Bouschet that speaks to revival, but their practice of converting traditionally farmed vineyards to organics and biodynamics.
