Silver Palm winemaker Matt Smith graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Viticulture and Enology. He was able to combine his passion for travel with his love for winemaking while working oversees in the Burgundy region of France and Australia. In 2004, he returned to the U.S. to focus on wine grape growing and winemaking of Bordeaux varietals. Matt became winemaker for Silver Palm in 2010. He used many of the cutting-edge and traditional artisan winemaking techniques he learned to craft this wine.
